In fact it was so large it had to be scanned and stitched together.
Imagine putting a 2.267kg of jam in your supermarket trolley? How long would that last the family?
Unfortunately this example is somewhat brittle, no doubt due to the glue used on the back, but nonetheless it is still an outstanding full colour piece.
The type of fruit has been overstamped and the lithographic representation of the fruit gives you an idea of the other Arab Brand Jams one could buy.
The jam type 'Violet Hative Plum' is not a misprint. Apparently it is a species found in North America, which makes one wonder why call the brand Arab, if not for the mystique of the exotic.
I wonder how such imagery would play in food labels today:
NEW! Full of explosive flavour- Wasabi PasteHmmm, perhaps not.
Wahhabi Brand Condiments
The Arab Brand Jam was produced by Wilkinson & Co in South Australia.
