In every city there is one place that always comes up when searching for a wedding reception venue.
On the Gold Coast it's the Tudor Rose.
This glorious anachronistic place was, at the making of this matchbook, in the middle of nowhere between Broadbeach and Mudgeeraba. Now it's in the middle of suburbia.
Judging by the six digit phone number this book dates prior to the 1980s.
Inside is the handwritten annotation: "Flatford" - Constable Flatford Mill.
But it's unlikely that anyone has confused a restaurant/convention venue built in the 1970s in Australia for a 16th century thatched cottage.
