It might be surprising in this day and age that, once upon a time, Australian wines weren't that highly regarded, despite the hard work of pioneering vintners of the 19th and early 20th Century.
But after World War Two a revolution happened. A new influx of migrants with winemaking skills moved here and better international transportation opened up export markets.
Nothing exists now of the Victorian Associated Vineyards which one presumes was a marketing co-operative but according to this eBay store, this label probably dates from the 1940s.
